Students in a circle, standing next to their partners, holding hands. (Optional: two concentric circles with partners holding hands, facing to the right.) One couple is in the center of the circle.
“Golden ring” = circle right while center couple stands still
“Take a little girl” = circle of students stands still (facing the center), clapping, while center couple does a right arm swing.
Refrain: Center couple circles right, circle of students circles left.
“Do-si-do right” and “do-si-do left” = follow the lyrics
Refrain 2nd time: Center couple joins circle of students.
“Hand over hand” =
(advanced version) Grand right and left around the circle until each person ends up with a new partner.
